I believe that architecture has the ability to change people’s lives. Through architecture, you could see and understand different meanings and thoughts of people, who built and lived during different periods. Architecture is like an open book, which could be helpful and extremely interesting for the reader, who knows this specific language. Therefore, I am looking forward to learning this “language” during your course. Even more, this big part of art could easily dictate the mood; how it contributes to the working environments according to people, who are going to live or work there. Only after a trip to Czech Republic, I realized that art could be visually produced and used in real life, by real people. I fell in love with Gothic architecture after this journey. Next year I was exploring secrets of French architecture with examples of Baroque and Roman styles. Year after year, I was starting to find out more about the world, nationalities, traditions and the different architectural styles. The traveling pushed me to the appreciation of history. I have two favourite subjects which will aid me in studying Architecture: Mathematics and Art. Mathematics helps me to understand this world from a technical point of view. For example, I enjoy noticing some algorithms and patterns in complicated equations. For me it is like, playing with puzzles, at the end you have always a beautiful picture. Art shows me the world from different angles. When I started studying Art more deeply, my vision changed. The colour pallet gets increasingly high for me; I am still opening different undertones day to day. I started to notice a lot of small aspects and peculiar qualities about shapes. I know that Architecture will allow combining these two completely different spheres of activity and I could put in the strict and straight mathematical rules combined with a little bit of grace and lightness from Art. |
